Giving back: supporting canine charities with dog photography

Giving back: supporting canine charities with dog photography

Dog photography is my superpower…

… and I might as well use it as a force for good! 😁

As the owner of both a dog photography business and two dogs, one of them a rescue (hi Henry!), I'm delighted to be able to use my photography to help out deserving dog charities. Rescuing a dog made me so much more aware of the unfortunate stories a lot of dogs – far, far too many – have had, from needing to leave their loving family homes for valid changes of domestic circumstances, to incidents of neglect and mistreatment. Canine charities, particularly rescues, provide a priceless service to both dogs and dog lovers.

Of course not all dog charities are solely there for when things go wrong – some organisations support dogs in finding their roles in the world, providing help, companionship and therapeutic support to their humans.

Success to date

At the time of writing, Paw Prints has raised a total of £850 for a range of dog charities! This has been achieved through a combination of limited edition Popup Studio Days – where clients can enjoy a mini-version of the Paw Prints photo session experience in return for a small donation to charity – and providing photography services for charity events.

Charities supported in 2017-18 included:

As you can see it’s a mix of national charities and those more specific to Yorkshire. And I’m looking forward to supporting more charities in 2019…

Donation pledge

In 2019 I’d like to make charitable giving a core part of the Paw Prints business. I want to make a donation to a doggy charity for every client photo session booked. But I don’t want to dictate who gets the donation. So here’s my 2019 Charity Pledge:

If you invest in a Paw Prints dog photography experience I will make a £10 donation to your nominated dog charity.

Just let me know which charity you want me to make the donation to when you book your shoot!
